DIET

Bobcat Kitten

Pixie Bob Kitten
LivingLegend Rain Dance of Alsoomse

The diet of a our Pixie Bobs here at ALSOOMSE is very important to us. I personally give raw meat for my Pixie Bobs as part of their diet. I believe, by feeding my Pixie Bobs raw meat this helps strengthen their immune system. After all, these are almost certainly some of the closest things that they would get in the wild. My Pixie Bobs eat the following:

Kittens

  • Raw Rabbit

  • Junior Whiskers

  • Raw Chicken

  • Sardines in olive oil with a full egg, shell and all mixed up

  • Royal Canin complete kitten food. First 0-4 months then 4-12 months

  • Once they reach the age of five months I then give them one raw chicken wing twice/three times a week

I feed my kittens this diet in small potions rotating it three/four times a day every day, making sure that they get a mixture. Once they reach the age of ten months I then feed them twice/three times a day, again rotating, so their meals are assorted. It keeps them healthy, bright eyed, shinny coats, regular, alert and very content. I personally feel it is very important that they have raw meat. With out the raw meat in their diet I find they are not as healthy or content. A healthy cat is a happy cat!

Once my Pixie Bobs reach the age of twelve months I feed them the following twice a day in medium portions.

Adults

  • Raw Rabbit

  • Whiskers

  • Raw chicken

  • Sardines in olive oil with a full egg, shell and all mixed up

  • Royal Canin complete adult food

  • Raw chicken wings on bone

  • White fish

I only leave the raw meat down for an hour. If after this time there is any left (which there usually isn’t) I throw the rest away. As I have said, nine times out of ten their food bowl is always empty but I never leave the raw food longer than an hour. I never over feed them; it is only a medium portion I put down for them. Fresh water is just as important and I never, never give them milk.
Our Pixie Bobs at Alsoomse are also taken for walks and have a play area in the garden. Grass is a must in their diet for their intestinal Health.

As you can see from the above my Pixie Bobs do have a varied diet. They are healthy, content and look wonderful on the diet that I provide.

A very interesting piece of writing in orientation to 'Raw Meat' can be found on www.pixie-bob.info/english_files/care.htm
